Frequently asked questions.
What kinds of issues do you work with in therapy?
I specialize in working with adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, family dysfunction, grief, trauma, life transitions, parenting challenges, work-life balance issues, and self-esteem concerns. My goal is to help clients gain clarity, develop coping skills, and move toward greater emotional well-being.
What therapeutic approaches do you use?
My primary approaches are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing. I provide a supportive, collaborative space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to create meaningful change in your life.
Who is a good fit for your practice?
I work primarily with adults seeking individual therapy. Whether you’re new to therapy or returning after some time, my practice may be a good fit if you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, or simply want to improve your overall mental health and self-awareness.
What can I expect from the first session?
Your first session is a comfortable, conversational meeting where we’ll get to know one another. We’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, your background, and your goals. Together, we’ll begin to develop a personalized plan that feels right for you.
Do you accept insurance?
At this time, I do not accept insurance directly. However, I can provide a detailed receipt (called a “superbill”) that you may submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. Please reach out if you have questions about payment options or documentation.
Do you offer online or in-person sessions?
I currently offer virtual therapy sessions to clients across the country. Online sessions provide a flexible, secure, and confidential way to access therapy from the comfort of your own space.
How long is each session and how often do we meet?
Most sessions last 60 minutes. The frequency of sessions depends on your individual needs and goals—some clients prefer weekly meetings, while others benefit from biweekly sessions. We’ll discuss what works best for you during our initial consultation.
How do I get started with therapy?
Getting started is simple. You can reach out through my contact form, phone, or email to schedule a consultation. During that call, we’ll discuss your needs, answer any questions, and determine if we’re a good fit to work together.
Is confidentiality maintained?
Yes. Confidentiality is one of the cornerstones of therapy. As a licensed therapist, I strictly adhere to all ethical and legal standards to protect your privacy. Everything you share in session remains confidential except in rare, legally mandated circumstances.
What if I’m unsure if therapy is right for me right now?
It’s completely okay to feel unsure. Many people start therapy with questions or mixed feelings. Our sessions will move at a pace you’re comfortable with, allowing space to explore your thoughts and emotions safely before making any decisions.
Can I bring a partner or family member into therapy?
While my focus is primarily on individual therapy for adults, I also offer family and couples sessions when appropriate. We can discuss whether including a loved one would best support your goals.
Do you work with specific populations or issues?
Yes. I work with a diverse range of adult clients, including individuals exploring relationship challenges, identity concerns, LGBTQ+ issues, women’s issues, men’s issues, and self-esteem. My practice is inclusive and affirming for all backgrounds and identities.
